Career Accelerator: Certified Administrative Specialist with AI training

The Career Accelerator Program is a ten-session, instructor-led course from the Global Institute for Sustainable Development (GISD) that trains people for administrative and operations roles in Northern Virginia and prepares them to use AI tools in that work. Participants build core administrative, communication and project management skills, then apply AI to research, scheduling, writing, document production and workflow. It runs in cohorts and awards a certificate on completion.

Administrative work is being redefined, not erased

Administrative and operations work is not disappearing. It is being redefined. The roles in decline are the ones that stay manual. The roles that are growing, and paying more, belong to professionals who can direct AI tools rather than compete with them. The Career Accelerator Program trains that second kind of professional.

A career accelerator, as GISD uses the term, is a short cohort-based program that takes somebody who is ready to work and closes the specific gap between what they can already do and what employers are currently hiring for. It is not a degree and it is not a bootcamp in a single tool. It is ten sessions of instruction and coaching against the tasks the job actually contains.

Most workplace AI training stops at basic literacy and simple prompting. The Conference Board finds that advanced skills, such as directing and managing AI agents, are rarely the focus, even though workers who can direct AI outperform those who only prompt it. GISD trains for the harder skill.
